On 7 April, LDD Kyllikki celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special game. In addition to our active roster, we were honoured to welcome the founding member of LDD Kyllikki, yliv Blake, to the festivities.

We were also joined by guests from the units VRESK, Bairakyn, DCS Finland, and Motti. LDD Kyllikki does not celebrate alone — Motti marks its tenth anniversary and VRESK its fifth. Congratulations to both! Everyone was appropriately dressed for the occasion, setting the stage for the celebrations to begin.





The event opened with speeches and a group photo, after which an attack was launched — eastward, towards the aggressor. Some celebrated briefly, others for longer, but in the end the operation was a tremendous success — absolutely incredible, maybe the best anyone has ever seen. Casualties were very minimal, almost none, which is remarkable. We went in strong, very strong, like nobody else would, and some people are saying it was one of the best operations they’ve ever seen, maybe the best one yet.

A total of 40 players took part in the anniversary game — numbers not seen on our server since the days of President Tarja Halonen. Due to the high turnout, we usedDCS Finland’s TeamSpeak server. Many thanks for the support, DCS Finland and Danthalas!

To celebrate the founding of our detachment 25 years ago, we gathered in Helsinki. This time, instead of camouflage, we dressed up a notch — some more than others. There were speeches, shared memories, and excellent food.

On top of his expertise with anti-tank weapons, alik Sioux proved skilled with a chef’s knife, single-handedly preparing a three-course meal for the celebrating detachment.







The meeting was an excellent start for the live events of the 25th anniversary.

Local Defence Detachment Kyllikki was founded on 30 March 2001. On the 25th year of operations, Kyllikki celebrates her history in a variety of ways: anniversary games will be held, detachment meetings convened and memorabilia created.

Over the years, well over a hundred players have fought and served in the ranks of the Detachment. Many have stayed in LDDK's Reserve, enjoying other games played in our community and participating in biannual meetings and other events, while the combat infantry platoon continues to conduct operations in Arma 3 every Sunday evening outside of Christmas and summer breaks with an outstanding 90 to 100 per cent strength.

LDDK continues her sure-footed march towards Arma 4 and future decades as one of the oldest Finnish gaming communities.
